HOW IT WORKS

Start with a video, finish with a share-ready version.

  1. Select a video from Photos or Files.
  2. Choose the spoken language and create a timed transcript.
  3. Review, edit, and translate the transcript.
  4. Adjust subtitle appearance and placement.
  5. Export a completed video or subtitle file.

Processing is performed locally on your device. Your videos, audio, transcripts, translations, and subtitles are not uploaded to our servers.

SELECTING A VIDEO

Can’t find or open a video?

  • Confirm photo or file access permission.
  • Make sure an iCloud video has finished downloading and is available locally.
  • Try opening it in Photos first and confirm your device supports the format.
  • Check available device storage.

On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → Apps → Video Translate Transcriber → Photos to review access. With limited access, confirm the intended video is selected.

TRANSCRIPTION

Improve an inaccurate transcript.

Background noise, music, multiple speakers, quiet or distant speech, fast speech, accents, echo, microphone quality, incorrect language selection, and specialized names can affect accuracy. Select the correct spoken language, use clear speech when possible, choose the hard-to-hear audio option for difficult audio, and review and correct important text before translating or sharing.

TRANSLATION & SUBTITLES

Review every important line.

Automated translations can miss slang, humor, idioms, names, terminology, regional expressions, and context. The app is not a certified translation service. Review both the source transcript and translated subtitles before exporting, especially for legal, medical, financial, or professional use. You may edit wording, timing, size, color, background treatment, and placement; shorter subtitle lines are usually easier to read.

PROCESSING & EXPORTS

When processing is slow or fails.

Processing time depends on video length and resolution, audio quality, transcription mode, translation needs, styling, device model, memory, and storage. Keep the app open, avoid demanding apps, connect power for longer videos, and try a shorter clip. If processing or export fails, confirm the video plays normally, storage is available, the original remains accessible, and the destination supports the selected format. Restart the app or device, try another supported video, and install the latest compatible app and system updates.

PURCHASES

Subscriptions, lifetime access, and refunds.

The weekly plan is currently $4.99 per week, with a three-day trial for eligible new subscribers. It renews unless canceled through Apple. Lifetime access is currently a $49.99 one-time purchase and does not renew. Apple controls final price, currency, taxes, trial eligibility, billing, and refund decisions. To restore an eligible purchase, sign in with the original Apple Account, open the purchase or settings screen, and select Restore Purchases. To cancel a weekly subscription: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Video Translate Transcriber → Cancel Subscription.
